Student Council Election Timeline

Applications, and speech guidelines will be passed out and explained May 4, 2012.

Students planning on running for a leadership position on the Council are to submit an application form with signatures from a parent and 2 teachers, along with an essay.

Essays are to be typed, at least 100 words, and in good form.

Essays should express the student’s ideas of leadership, their talents, and goals for the year. They are to be attached to the application.

Applications and attached essay are due to Mrs. Rosengarten by Wed. May 9, 2012.

Students who have submitted an essay will campaign during the week of May 14^th .

Students running for a leadership role on the Council will be expected to deliver a speech to grades 6 and 7 on May 18, 2012.

Students in grades 6 and 7 will vote for their Leadership Council after the speeches on May 18, 2012.

A few important dates for our 8th graders as they wnd up their year at CK :(

Tuesday- 4/24 last five service hours are due

Wednesday- 5/2 May Crowning (1:30) and Graduation pictures

Wednesday 5/9 Confirmation rehearsal 7:00 for candidate and sponsor

Friday 5/11 Confirmation 7:00

Monday- 6/4 Recognition Dinner 7:00

Tuesday- 6/5 Graduation and dance 7:00

8th Grade Space Rover supply list

Dear Parents,

We are going to design and build a space vehicle that would be able to “drive” over the terrain of a chosen planet in space. (not earth)

The students will be in groups and will be responsible for bringing in any material they want to use to build their vehicle. Some material will be available in class. We will begin to design the vehicle after Easter Break, so I would like all the supplies brought in the week we get back. I will have a more exact date when we return.
