Advisory Groups: Middle School students are combined in small groups with equal numbers of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and meet each Friday afternoon with their respective faculty advisor to participate in education programs, service to others, and bonding time. Contact: Mrs Sprader
Altar Servers: Students in grades 5-8 are welcome to learn how to be altar servers and serve in our school Masses and on Sundays.
Band: Students in grades 5-8 are welcome to participate in Band. Students meet during the school day and perform at concerts and pep rallies throughout the school year. Contact: Mrs. Wachowiak
Buds: K-buds, 1-buds, and 2-buds are linked respectively with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Middle school students help their younger counterparts to practice reading, writing, math, faith skills, and play, while their younger "buds" help the older students to grow in responsibility, maturity, and leadership. Only in a K-8 school can this kind of vertical interaction take place, and it is something that all parties look forward to on a regular basis. Contacts: Middle School teachers
Choir and Handbells: Students in grades 4-8 are welcome to participate in the Choristers, and students in grades 5-8 can play with the Handbells group. These musical groups are featured during school Masses and Sunday liturgies as well.
Latin Club: Over the course of a school year, students will learn one semester of 1st-year high school Latin, and in their second year, they can complete that freshman course of study. This will help students test into Honors Latin I or regular Latin II in high school.. Contact: Mrs. Roberts
Lectors: Students are invited to participate in the Mass by presenting various readings and petitions at Sunday Liturgies.
Math Counts: Students are invited to compete against other schools in this exciting nationwide Math competition. Contact: Mrs. Carroll
Newspaper: The students publish the Christ the King School Chronicle three times a year. Stories about CK, its students, faculty, and staff, and creative writing are always welcome. Additional writing opportunities are available as well. Contact: Mrs. Roberts
Quiz Bowl: 7th and 8th graders are invited to try out for this interscholastic competitive team in which CK goes against other schools in the Diocese. This year, our team came in 1st place in our Division! Practices begin in September. Contact: Mrs. Karmol
Sacramental Preparation: 2nd and 8th graders prepare for First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation as a class at CK. Contact: 2nd and 8th-grade teachers.
Scouts: Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts are active in all grades at CK. For current information on scout leaders, contact: School Office
Student Lighthouse Team and WiCKies: This is the leadership team of the school in which students meet and create programs to benefit the student body educationally, socially, and in service to others. For the Student Lighthouse team (Grades 5-8) contact: Mrs. Sprader
Yearbook: Middle School students work to create the annual CK Yearbook. Students write, illustrate, design, and take photographs for this annual publication. Contacts: Mrs. LaPan or Miss Rossler.
Youth Group: Middle School students are invited to participate in regular meetings and activities in order to deepen their Catholic faith, perform service for others, and bond in fellowship with their peers. We attend the March for Life in January in Washington, DC. All parishioners in grades 5 on up are welcome. Contact: Mrs. Roberts
